Based on both Parton's festive feel-good hit Smoky Mountain Christmas and the Yuletide classic A Christmas Carol, the story transports the action to the mountains of Tennessee, where mining company bigwig Ebenezer Scrooge reigns tyrannically. As in the original, Scrooge has a date set with destiny, meeting the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, who hold a mirror up to his curmudgeonly ways.
